Speaking the Arabic language allows students to learn more about the Arab world’s culture and traditions. Students can gain an understanding of the culture and colloquiums by speaking Arabic with others. At Arab Academy, we provide students with online learning and study abroad programs. Here’s how students can learn the language, tradition, and culture:
Forms of the Arabic Language
There are multiple types of Arabic, as it’s the mother tongue in almost 30 countries. In each culture, there are different accents and pronunciations. The meanings of specific words vary according to their traditions. Moden Standard Arabic is used in 22 countries and is one of the official languages of the United Nations. It is more formal and often used in official communication. Some of our other courses include Egyptian Colloquial Arabic and AB Initio/GCSE lessons. GCSE (General Certificate of Education) courses are available to middle or high school students. It comprises three levels, including the alphabet and daily life situations.
Online Learning
Once a student picks a specific form of Arabic, they’ll begin with the basics first. This includes learning letters, forming sentences, and learning proper syntax and grammar. At Arab Academy, we recommend learning by hearing, seeing, writing, and speaking. Learners can practice by reading children’s books or music. The vocabulary is more straightforward, exposing students to the culture and tradition through entertainment.
With online learning, students can meet with a course advisor, either for help or to pick the right course based on learning objectives and competency levels. Students can learn independently, track their progress, and practice one-on-one with teachers or native speakers. They’ll focus on verb conjugation, sentence structure, and grammar in the Arabic language.
Study Abroad in Cairo, Egypt
The study abroad program allows students to receive daily Arabic instruction, such as reading comprehension and speaking. Depending on the type of program, some students may stay anywhere from four to 32 weeks long. Students will learn five days a week with four hours of instruction at the Arab Academy campus. Our experts encourage students to explore the city and nearby sites to learn more about the customs or societal values. This includes hospitality and accepting food and drink when visiting a business. Other traditions include etiquette, such as avoiding stretching your legs or leaning against walls.
